Here is part two of the tutorial series. This one goes into a lot of detail, and can hopefully dispel a few misconceptions about pony anatomy.

If you can not see flash for some reason here is a PDF version: [link]

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for changes/improvements, of if you'd like anything clarified.

Big thanks to *Onsaud:icononsaud: for proof reading and suggesting things that I forgot to mention.
Also big thanks to ~SpaceKingofSpace:iconspacekingofspace: for the awesome anon-pony vector.

This is great.

Some of the links (Onsaud's, egophiliac's) don't seem to be alive anymore, which is a bit of a shame.

I love how his expression changes to different frightening looks, like he is afraid of being drawn with a wrong bend pose, which sure would hurt

soo if you're drawing the princesses or fillies do you have to change the leg lengths for standing or sitting poses as well as their height?

:iconwhatsapokemon:
Whatsapokemon Featured By Owner Jan 4, 2014  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Sorry for the late reply. With the princesses and fillies you just change the proportions of the leg. Fillies have much shorter and thicker legs, whereas the princesses have much longer thinner legs.

Proportionally an alicorn has legs which are about 2x the height of their head. Fillies have legs which are about 3/4 the height of their head.
Like so:

I drew all the pictures with Paint Tool SAI and then imported them into Adobe Flash to make the tutorial.

However you can do pretty much the same things in Photoshop, or GIMP, or FireAlpaca, or Sketchbook Pro, or a whole bunch of other programs. It's really up to whatever you're most comfortable with. :)

Thanks :)

So, I can also do the animation with ps?
Including the buttons to click?

Is there any chance I can get Adobe Flash for free?

Sorry for many questions.. x3

Nah, the animation/interactivity is all flash. If you want to make something like this you'll need Adobe Flash.
You can make
GIF animations in photoshop though, kinda like my avatar.

As for getting flash for free, I'm afraid you're going to have to look elsewhere. If you talk to someone who's good with computers they can probably tell you how, but I can't condone that :)
