Here is part three of the tutorial series. This one explains various aspects of the pony head and muzzle anatomy. There are varations including by gender and age.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for changes/improvements, of if you'd like anything clarified.

Big thanks to *SubjectNumber2394:iconsubjectnumber2394: and also ~Onsaud:icononsaud: for proof reading and suggesting things that I forgot to mention.
Also big thanks to ~SpaceKingofSpace:iconspacekingofspace: for the awesome anon-pony vector.

Looks at page 24: Oh! That's why I couldn't draw my pony smiling with her mouth open! The mouth being open changes the curve that forms the snout slightly. This tutorial is amazing.

Awesome Tutorial! I struggle with the 3Q view so this helped alot. Another thing I struggle on is mane designs. The horror! I either do them too thin or too flat. Any tips?

Try doing the tail first, where you can be a little more relaxed and crazy. Then, come back to the upper hairs and try to match the style of the tail, so it can be just as crazy while still fit.
About the flatness, imagine the hair being "puffy" rather than compressed. Again, if you have a crazy enough tail design, it shouldn't be too flat.
